Jon Stewart, friend of rationality and reasonableness

Last night Jon Stewart of the Daily Show and Stephen Colbert of the Colbert Report announced that they were holding diametrically opposed rallies in Washington D.C. on October 30th. Colbert’s rally, March to Keep the Fear Alive, pokes fun of the growing belief that:

America, the Greatest Country God ever gave Man, was built on three bedrock principles: Freedom. Liberty. And Fear — that someone might take our Freedom and Liberty.

While Stewart’s rally, Rally to Restore Sanity, will promote reason:

Think of our event as Woodstock, but with the nudity and drugs replaced by respectful disagreement…

To promote this rally, Stewart provided examples of signs one might expect to see at his rally, including, “I disagree with you, but I am pretty sure you are not Hitler.” I could think of a few of my own that I would like to sport. I thought I’d sprinkle them in throughout the day in the comments. What would your sign promoting rational and reasonable think say?

Here is an obscure one that I like:
    “[citation needed]”

This one might be too close to an ad hominem for this rally:
“Sarah Palin lacks a certain credibility.”

  • “I can’t really hear your point until we all stop shouting”
